Anchor Chart Linky Party: Daily 5 Expectations

I am so excited to be linking up with Ladybug's Teacher Files' Anchor Chart Linky Party!

Nerd Alert: One of my most favorite thing is creating anchor charts. I always use the scented markers on chart paper and it honestly makes my day brighter :)

Unfortunately, we are in the middle of state tests, so many of my anchor charts had to be taken down (grr!), but some of the ones I left up relate to Daily 5, so I wanted to share those with you. Here they are:
A few things you will notice:

My Daily 5 consists of all of the choices except Work on Writing-- I changed that to Read with a Teacher (Teacher Time) instead so I could meet with my book groups and continue that practice I love :)

The T-Chart does have "Students" on the left side and talks abotu expectations (I wrote students' names next to an idea they suggested), but on the right side, I include other information they may need. Sometimes that is Teacher expectations, other times it will be choices, other times it is materials, or a combination of all three.

The words in between the stars on top are character assets I want them to focus on during that work time. I took that from the Sisters when they wrote "Independence" on top, but then switched it up throughout the rest. I wanted kids to show "Respect"during Listen to Reading because we are using technology and need to be extra careful. I wanted them to practice "Kindness" in Read with Someone because they may need to show patience and understanding if their partner makes a mistake. All that good stuff :)

I wrote about Voice Levels in a previous post and I wanted to make sure kids knew that different choices had different levels and why.

You may see that these charts are covering up the MESSIEST wall shelves EVER! Clearly, I need to link up with Clutter-Free Classroom's Organizing series, but to be honest, that may just have to be a summer break thing :) I have big plans for this room over the summer, but that is for a post at another time!

Enjoy all of these anchor charts and all of the other amazing ideas over on Ladybug's Teacher Files' Linky Party!
